3.01 - Appliance/Robot Combat
Idea for January 17, 2008
Theme: Appliance/Robot Combat/Dating Game
includes topics that expand on the theme
- Mini-robots
- Iconic look
- A.I.
- Enhancement
- Regular routines
- Tools
- Purpost/Function
- Sensitive Machines
- Eccentric scientists (ie. Doc Brown, Dr. House)
- Feng-shui
Genre: Action/Adventure
game genre with possible significant changes or important points
- Possible Genres:
- RPG
- Sim
Mechanics/Systems
individual gameplay mechanics and mechanics categorized by system
- NOTE: Warm-up session, mostly unrecorded
- Sim-themed household, but each appliance is actually an intelligent robot with a distinct personality that reflects what appliance it is
- Each robot interacts with other appliances and develops relationships with fellow appliances, meaning that where an appliance is placed will affect its mood (setting a fridge and an oven next to each other would make them clash, but a fridge and freezer would get along great!)
- Each appliance can be upgraded and customized
- Each appliance is capable of transforming into a ‘battle’ mode, with attacks that reflect its ‘normal’ mode
- Each appliance must be defeated first:
- The player must approach and defeat an appliance with the support of the player’s currently owned appliances
- Developing relationships with each appliance will affect how they behave in battle, or grow throughout the game
Story
narrative elements concerning plot, characters, world
- Something crazy?
- Perhaps the story is about a technological revolution, where people must manage and control a newly-discovered form of A.I. that is included in all modern electronics (which is included in all devices and appliances by default)
Audience
includes possible target user group traits
- People who like dating sims paired with … crazy talking fridges?!?
Possible Technology
includes hardware that would best support the game
