Stories of rapid prototyping
- web development frameworks are super fast
- when you spend so long on a prototype maybe you should stop and evaluate it
- use tools that don't involve programming like Game Maker
- in game interactive editors are often useful (ex. minecraft, love mmo, cube engine, etc.)
Analysis Paralysis
The term "analysis paralysis" or "paralysis of analysis" refers to over-analyzing (or over-thinking) a situation, so that a decision or action is never taken, in effect paralyzing the outcome. A decision can be treated as over-complicated, with too many detailed options, so that a choice is never made, rather than try something and change if a major problem arises. A person might be seeking the optimal or "perfect" solution upfront, and fear making any decision which could lead to erroneous results, when on the way to a better solution. — Wikipedia
- seems to be a pretty common problem and a lot of us can relate to it
- sometimes it is easier than you think
- when the customer is something else it makes it worse since you try to get the most optimal and general solution
- solution ideas:
- pick one and go with "just do it"
- find a balance between analysis and just doing it
