Pixel World collision detection

  • how would you do collision detection from the Pixel World game design discussion
  • Use quadtrees algorithm to change visual and collision map
  • could store a discrete number of levels for more control (requires more art)

Path following

  • Flash has built in curves and you can tell objects to follow them
  • parametric curves require you to parameterize it so it is a constant speed


  • Alex Lorimer showed his Go AI written in XNA
  • right now it looks at corners, influence and the last move played
  • looking into a learning algorithm to mimic how players learn Go
