Website Redesign
High level redesign ideas
- Relevant information first level - On a page show the important information and link to further details or use tabs.
- Use images - People gravitate towards images so theme sections of information with images. For example on the discussions page the section headings could have cartoon characters sketching out ideas or sitting at a computer typing.
Tasks
- [Eric] Style events page
- Add comments module to every design and technical discussion archive by copying the following code.
++ Comments
[[module Comments hideForm="true"]]
- [Perry]Use live templates as shortcut for adding comments module to every page.
- Find/add design and technical minutes that are not on the website.
- Create wikidot templates for discussions, projects and member profiles
- If the redesign of design discussions includes a "summary" at the top, go to all the previous ones and attempt to write one for each of them.
- Discussions:
- Projects:
- [Perry] Create wikidot template for member profile and provide clear instructions so members find it easy to add one
- Proposed profile template
- [Perry] Redesign Members page
- Not sure what can be done but it would be great if it could be streamlined. I think it is still a good idea to have all members listed on a single page rather than use tabs. — Eric
- Redesign about page
- History, Constitution, Contact merged into one page?
- Add club logo to the top of the page
- The logo needs to be redesigned to include the full text "SFU Game Developers Club." Samantha is probably doing this.
- Redesign Discussions page
- Make it more eye catching with images
- Re-word descriptions of discussions if necessary
